About State Budget Division

The Department of Management's State Budget Division prepares the Executive Branch budget proposal for the Governor that is delivered to the Legislature. The State Budget Division facilitates the work of the Revenue Estimating Council in determining revenue estimates. It assists state departments' in budget preparation to achieve desired results of Iowa state government. It is responsible for evaluating the fiscal and policy impacts of program and budget proposals and making this information available to decision makers.

The Division also receives all local taxing authority budgets and certifies the budgets upon which the consolidated property tax levies are based.
